Women’s Self Defense Classes in Colorado Springs

Every woman deserves to feel strong, capable, and prepared to defend herself in any situation. Our women’s self-defense classes aren’t just about physical technique — they’re about empowerment, confidence, and reclaiming personal safety, taught in a safe and supportive environment built specifically for women.

What You Learn in Class

You’ll learn practical skills, sharpen your awareness, and build on strength you may not know you have yet. Every technique is grounded in the same Valente Brothers Method taught throughout the academy — real self-defense, not choreography.

Defending Against a Larger, Stronger Attacker

This is exactly the problem jiu-jitsu was built to solve. You’ll learn to manage distance, avoid being pinned, and control someone heavier than you using position and leverage rather than raw strength.

Coaches walk you through these escapes hands-on, starting in your first free class.

A Supportive Training Environment for Women

Class is run as a women’s group, so your regular training partners are other women. It’s a space to learn practical skills, ask questions, and build confidence without feeling like the only woman in the room. Mixed classes are available later if you want them, supervised closely with clear etiquette throughout.

Our instructors are committed to equipping you with the knowledge and tools to navigate the world with confidence — to stand tall, speak up, and take control of your own safety.

Class Times and How to Join

Your first class is free. Comfortable workout clothes and a water bottle are all you need — arrive about ten minutes early, tie back long hair, and leave jewelry at home for safety.

We’ll walk you through everything else once you’re here.

  • Grounded in the 753 Code and the same Valente Brothers Method taught throughout the academy

  • A genuine community of resilience and empowerment, not a one-off self-defense talk

FAQs About Beginner Jiu-Jitsu Classes

Do I need to be fit or athletic to join?2026-09-24T11:13:01+00:00

No — most women who join haven’t trained in anything for years. Techniques are built on body position, angles, and timing, not strength or speed. Coaches take you through the basics at a pace that suits you on your first night.

Will I have to train with men?2026-09-24T11:13:24+00:00

The women’s class runs as a women’s group, so your regular training partners are other women. Mixed classes are available later if you want them, supervised closely with clear etiquette rules.

Can self-defense really work against a bigger attacker?2026-09-24T11:13:36+00:00

Yes — that’s precisely the problem jiu-jitsu was designed to solve. You learn to manage distance, avoid being pinned, and control someone heavier than you using position rather than force.

How long does it take to feel more confident?2026-09-24T11:13:49+00:00

Many women notice a shift in how they carry themselves within the first month or two. Confidence tends to come from repeating a few reliable responses, not from learning a long list of techniques.

What should I wear and bring to my first class?2026-09-24T11:14:11+00:00

Comfortable workout clothes and a water bottle. Arrive about ten minutes early, tie back long hair, and leave jewelry at home for safety.
